A valley that puts on masks for six weeks a year and explains itself to nobody.
The masks are carved by the men who wear them, from a pattern no one ever wrote down. We were allowed to film the carving on one condition: that we did not ask what it meant.
Shot at night, handheld, and deliberately at the wrong distance. The film works better when you cannot quite see.
